vhite systems provides technical writing services for diverse software and web applications, for global clients in US, UK, Europe and in Australasia. We also offer Online Technical Writing Training Courses, a first in this part of country � Chandigarh.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I have been doing technical writing for software, for more than four years now and now, I want to provide technicalw riting services to global clients.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
www.vhite.com is my first business website, and it was launched in March 2009.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I did extensive research on different aspects of naming a business. Organizations such as 'Igor' helped me in deciding a name. I did competitors analysis and the latest trends on how new brands are coming in international market. In addition, I wanted a name that does not have a common meaning and that does not reflect that we are into technology. vhite fulfills all these conditions.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
There are few factors that make us different:
The content of our site is our strength. Users can read it and make their own judgment.
We are the first specialist 'Technical Writing Services' provider, and 'Online Technical Writing Training' provider in Chandigarh region.
Not many companies who provide technical writing services provide medical writing services also.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Eventual goal is a derivative of few smaller objectives such as: vhite trained technical writers are placed in the best organizations Our clients enjoy long-term relationships with us, deriving benefit from our quality technical documentation services
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Since we are a startup, I cannot really explore it in depth. All I can say is that our focus is on generating wealth - which is 'our clients' :).
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would invest it in making our Training Courses more user-friendly, may be an audio-video recording of lessons and interactive assignments too being part of regular training.
Two, I would invest in classroom training, students and professionals visiting us onsite and working on training projects.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, I can manage that.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Nothing, I had extensively planned everything and I was ready for every cost.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Preparing Training Courses - the structure and making sure that right kind of information is available in each course.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
It is difficult to pick one. SEO and directory listing has helped. I am planning to place adverts too.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It has been a slow progress as against what I had planned. Otherwise, I am quite satisfied.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
It is running for about 3 months now, and it will keep running.
